The UK Centre for Blockchain Technologies (UK CBT), represented by Dr. Francesco Pierangeli at the Scholars in Blockchain International Symposium (SIBIS24), was organised by the British Blockchain Association (BBA) and chaired by Prof Dr Naseem Naqvi MBE.

The symposium, the first of its kind dedicated to academic leadership in blockchain research and education, brought together over 100 professors from six continents. In his presentation, Dr Pierangeli highlighted two key challenges facing the industry: regulatory uncertainty and the limited public understanding of blockchain technology.

Dr. Pierangely also showcased the ongoing work of UK CBT, underlining its role in connecting academia, policy, and industry.

SIBIS24 offered a platform for global scholars to exchange ideas, explore collaborative opportunities, and strengthen the international research network in blockchain and digital assets, reinforcing the value of academic engagement in shaping the future of the industry.
