UK CBT supported Model to Market: Quantitative Hack, a two-week solo trading competition completed in June 2026.

Participants developed and refined models while trading live across foreign exchange, gold, silver and cryptocurrency markets. The format tested how quantitative strategies performed under real market conditions.

‍

The competition concluded with a final event in London, bringing together quant traders, developers, students and fintech enthusiasts. The winning team received the £100,000 prize.

The programme reflects UK CBT’s aim to connect technical talent, research and industry around applied challenges in digital finance.

UK CBT Holds Workshop on AMMs at XRPL Commons

Walter Hernandez, a UK CBT PhD student at UCL, led a workshop on Automated Market Makers (AMMs) at XRPL Commons in Paris on the 28th of October 2024. As part of the ‘Building on the XRP Ledger’ training series, the session explored how AMMs function, their role in DeFi, and their specific applications within the XRP Ledger ecosystem.
