The fifth XRPL Residency Demo Day, hosted by XRPL Commons on 2nd of April, brought together a new cohort of builders working at the intersection of blockchain and real-world applications. This edition focused on the theme of Gamification, with ten diverse projects demonstrating how user engagement tools and token-driven systems can unlock new possibilities across sectors.
The event featured solutions spanning education, employee engagement, fitness, music, and finance, each leveraging blockchain to solve sector-specific challenges in new and accessible ways. Projects included gamified learning platforms with NFT-based certification, multilingual employee engagement tools, movement-incentivised fitness applications, artist-centred music streaming platforms, and interactive experiences designed to boost financial literacy.
While the use cases varied, a shared thread across the cohort was a strong emphasis on practical implementation and user-centred design. Several projects explored how blockchain infrastructure can be integrated into existing systems, such as education and corporate HR, to enhance transparency, engagement, and motivation. Others focused on bridging cultural and entertainment sectors with decentralised technologies through innovative monetisation models and digital asset frameworks.
In particular, the Demo Day showcased applications of tokenised loyalty schemes, gamified education models, and tools to support underrepresented communities in accessing blockchain opportunities. By centring user experience and lowering barriers to entry, many of the teams demonstrated a clear commitment to broadening adoption and moving blockchain beyond niche developer audiences.
The Demo Day also reflected the increasing maturity of the XRPL ecosystem, with projects focusing not just on technological novelty but also on scalability, regulatory considerations, and mainstream usability. It highlighted how blockchain can support creative problem-solving in everyday contexts—bringing measurable improvements in learning outcomes, financial behaviour, and engagement.
