UK CBT at the 8th Cryptocurrency Research Conference (CRC2025)

The UK Centre for Blockchain Technologies (UK CBT) supported the 8th Cryptocurrency Research Conference (CRC2025), hosted by the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens with additional support from Zayed University.
The event brought together over 200 participants from academia, industry, blockchain ecosystems, and policy, featuring 10 sessions and 50 speakers, including keynote addresses by Yannis Stournaras, Governor of the Bank of Greece.
UK CBT Deputy Director Dr. Francesco Pierangeli participated in the plenary panel ‘Can Regulation Catch Up to Innovation in the Crypto Space,’ chaired by Prof. Aristeidis Samitas.
Across two days, CRC2025 offered research sessions, networking opportunities, and paper awards sponsored by Elsevier’s Research in International Business and Finance, with opportunities for publication in leading journals such as The Financial Review, Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money, and The British Accounting Review.
The event reinforced the importance of dialogue between academia, industry, and policymakers in shaping the future of cryptocurrency research and regulation.
